31/03/2019: Back to Nairobi

This has been one of the quickest holidays ever.  Each day has been full, either watching the animals or travelling the quite considerable distances between the parks. So today we headed off to Nairobi.  It was a six hour drive initially on very bumpy roads. There are a few small towns along the way and Narok.   The litter in the ditches is quite bad, mainly plastic bottles.  The Kenyan government has banned all plastic bags and the fine for having one is quite stiff. We are lunch outside another souvenir shop but this time did not buy as we had very little cash left. As we approached Nairobi the traffic got heavier. Joan is reading Kuki Gullman's biography "I dreamed of Africa" and by chance the first place she goes to when she arrives in Kenya is the Norfolk Hotel, where we just happened to be staying. 30/03/2019: Masai Mara

This was our final day on safari.  George asked us if we wanted to go out all day or take two separate drives.  We asked which he thought was best and he suggested go out early in the morning.  Take a break around lunch and then go back out in the late afternoon. Because every day has been so full it is hard to keep up with the blog.  It's also difficult to say much more than we saw this and we saw that.  Worde can not do the experience justice. We were the only people down for breakfast and for once were early for George.  The skies were overcast and we noticed that some of the giraffe and buffalo were lying down.  Joan asked if the animals did this when there was rain in the air, as cows do at home.  George said he had never heard of such a thing.
