050119: Heading home

Our final day.  Just before breakfast we had a visit from the pink dolphins but yet again they were fleeting and evaded our cameras.

After breakfast Daniel offered us a walk in the jungle with the others.  As we had our only clean, dry clothes on we declined as we would have to journey home in these.
We waved off the others who were dropped off with Daniel on the bank.   We sat in the salon looking at photos and bizarrely Take That came on the radio singing Back for Good.  We moored for lunch and a boat was taken out for Daniel to bring the others back in

The Captain said we would leave the boat at 1.15 to go to the airport.  We ate alone as the others had not returned.  Aurelio went to look for them but could not locate them.  The boat was still where it had been left.

The captain told Kevin that the jungle walk was only meant to be an hour and he was clearly concerned at their non-appearance.
So with the other motor boat we set off back to Los Puentes.  It took about an hour and it was miraculous how Aurelio managed to navigate the channels and lagoons.  We would have felt a lot less confident with Daniel at the helm.  For once it did not rain but we still got wet.

We were soon in a taxi heading to Trinidad airport, ready for the three flights which would take us home.  We're not sure if the others ever returned but not going for that walk was a good call.
